What is Australia’s minimum wage in 2025?

Australia‘s national minimum wage for adult employees not covered by an award or registered agreement is $24.95 per hour, or $948 per week (for a 38-hour week), as of July 1, 2025. The national minimum wage applies to most employees, but specific industries and jobs have minimum rates set by awards, which are also updated annually by the Fair Work Commission.

• Weekly rate: $948.00 (for a 38-hour week)
• Effective date: July 1, 2025
• Casual employees: Are also entitled to a 25% casual loading on top of the minimum wage.
• Award/agreement rates: Most jobs in Australia have a minimum pay rate defined in an “award” that may be higher than the national minimum wage. These rates are also updated annually.
